Dear Netherlands St Ayles Skiffs,
The St Ayles Skiff Regatta Committee is extending an invitation to all members to form teams for the Inaugural International rowing event in Franklin, February 12-15, 2015.
Community building and rowing of St Ayles Skiffs is growing throughout the world and crews are expected from New Zealand, Scotland and the Mainland. The skiffs are novice-friendly, have four rowers and a cox and there are 30 races in men’s, women’s & mixed categories over 250m, 1000m, 2000m & 10,000m. Eight skiffs are expected, 2 from overseas, 2 from mainland Australia and four in Tasmania.
This is part of the inaugural Huon River-Fest the weekend after the Australian Wooden Boat Festival and offers a mixture of river and land activities for a wide-age range. The skiffs will also have a presence at the Australian Wooden Boat Festival with 250m sprints on Sunday Feb 8 and 250m sprints and 1km events at the Royal Hobart Regatta on Monday Feb 9.
